Bronze Award

We are thrilled to share that the Wolverton Benefice (both St George’s Church & Holy Trinity Church) has been awarded the A Rocha UK Bronze Eco Church Award! This recognition highlights our commitment to caring for God’s creation by adopting sustainable practices in our church life, from reducing energy use to supporting biodiversity in our community.

We are grateful for everyone who has contributed to this journey and look forward to continuing our efforts towards becoming an even greener, more eco-concious church.

Thank you for being part of this mission!

AUGUST 2025

We can take action to care for plants, wildlifeand soil in the places where we live and around our churches. Caring for the earth was the first instruction God gave to humans. This doesn’t mean we all need to be professional gardeners, but perhaps try to learn one new thing this month that you can do for a garden space.

This is a great opportunity to review where you might be able to reduce single-use plastics in your life.

During the hot weather, help hedgehogs, whose prey of slugs, snalis and worms diminish in the hot weather, by providing hedgehog biscuits or small crumbed dog biscuits.

If you have a pond ensure they and other small creatures have a safe exit.

Did you know: Like dogs, birds can’t sweat, and so some, like dogs, pant instead? Have you ever seen a bird pant? The air from breathing in and out causes the moisture in their lungs, throat and mouths to evaporate, cooling them down!

Many birds appreciate a dip to cool down and so a bird bath is a great way to help.
